January Books We’re Excited About

Hello everyone! I thought we’d go through some of our new books that we’re excited about this month.

Fitness After 40 by Vonda Wright, M.D.
Dr. Wright was on The 700 Club on Wednesday. Check out the great segment!
She’s got a bunch of other interviews lined up so you’ll be hearing her name a lot from now on. [Editor’s note: Yes, she is that unbelievably beautiful orthopedic surgeon/mother over the age of 40]

Reinvention by Brain Tracy
We all know the economy is bad, so maybe it’s time to reinvent yourself–whether it’s an unexpected job loss, an early retirement, or your choice to finally follow your passion. Who better to guide you than serial reinventor Brian Tracy?

From the Bureau to the Boardroom by Dan Carrison
I find it difficult to take work lessons from episodes of Bones, but Dan Carrison may just clue me into that. Publishers Weekly said: “…the lessons are indisputably germane to corporations and the fascinating sidebar interviews with agents will captivate readers.” Plus, our own AMA Edgewise podcast team has Dan talking about management lessons from the FBI.

Taking the Sea by Dennis Powers
Shiver-me-timbers, I can still remember our comedy sketch from sales conference last April about the notorious Captain Whitelaw. Check out Dennis’s awesome website here for more information.

The Manager’s Guide to HR by Max Muller
Need some quick-and-fast HR secrets as a front-line manager? Check out this book. Every manager could use these tips today.

Parenting an Adult with Disabilities or Special Needs by Peggy Lou Morgan
“People who experience disabilities have just as much right to ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ as any other person,” believes Peggy Lou Morgan, who has worked with the disabled for over 30 years and adopted Billy Ray, her now-adult, multiply-disabled son. Get advice at Peggy’s blog here.

We have loads more books out this month and you can check them out at our website.
