Library Journal’s Best Consumer Health Books of 2009

Stand By Her: A Breast Cancer Guide for Men was selected by Library Journal as one of the Best Consumer Health Books of 2009.

Library Journal explained: “Anderson filled a gap in the breast cancer (BC) literature with this guide for men who have women in their lives with the disease. (The author’s wife, sister, mother, and mother’s best friend all had BC.) Provided here is good advice about supporting a loved one during diagnosis and treatment, dealing with emotional issues, celebrating remission, and preparing for the end of life. (LJ 9/1/09)”

This is the second time the book has been so honored to be included on the year’s best health book. In December, Laura Landro, the Wall Street Journal’s “Informed Patient” columnist, also selected Stand By Her as one of 2009’s best health books, and a recommended read for the New Year.

In addition, The Alzheimer’s Advisor chosen by Library Journal as one of the Best Consumer Health Books 2008 last year. Thanks LJ!
