Webcast on Your Own Terms: Taking Charge of Any Negotiation

DaviddsYasmin Davidds, author of YOUR OWN TERMS: A Woman’s Guide to Taking Charge of Any Negotiation (AMACOM August 2015), recently recorded a live webcast with the American Management Association. Negotiation skills are some of the most important tools in any businessperson’s kit–but women are often socialized not to advocate for themselves too aggressively, and when they do, it’s not greeted kindly.

Enter negotiation expert Yasmin Davidds, who has trained and consulted thousands of corporate leaders in over 200 blue chip companies throughout 22 countries in the art and skill of negotiation. When women negotiate, to what degree should they disclose what they hope to receive from the negotiation, and how should they go about revealing their desires?  The answer to a great extent depends on the type of person they are negotiating with and how they wish the other to perceive them.

In order for women to position themselves properly in any negotiation, they must learn to identify and adapt to their counterpart’s negotiation style.

By the end of this webcast, women will be able to: 1. identify their own negotiation style; 2. identify others’ negotiation styles; and 3. position themselves for a win-win outcome.
